These calls are generated by a computer used by a telecentre - working on behalf of Telstra. Telecentres work for many different companies and organisations using different numbers.
Their computer will keep ringing numbers automatically. If you do not answer - it will keep trying. If you do answer (but they have no live person available to speak to you) - it will hang up and call again (it now knows your number is active). If you answer and they have someone available to talk to you, they will try to sign you up to Telstra - or change your plan. You can ask them to take your number off their system - which may work for a while.
Ring Telstra and request that they stop sending calls to your phone. Do it nicely, as it is the company - not the staff - who are behind this.
If your phone has the capability to do so - use the "block" option for "private", "overseas", or individual numbers. If you can't do this - use an answering machine. Tell your friends you will only pick up if you can identify them.
Make sure you are on the "Do not call" register. Unfortunately, it does not cover overseas, charities, government, certain surveys - but it does reduce the number of calls.

I got a call from this number also claiming to be a Telco Group company that works for Telstra, they have been calling me all week and they have been missing me. So I rang the number and I got a voice message telling me they are Telco. I don't know what the bloke wanted but he was Italian I know that much and his name was Harry he would not tell me his surname so I hung up. Then rang Telstra and reported the call.

keep getting calls from this number, they disconnect if i pick up, or goes to message bank. surely someone can locate who belongs to this number and stop them. am on do not call register and have blocked this number, but my phone is registering that they have called twice today.

Getting this call up to 5 times a day. Telstra denies any affiliation.
I have lodged complaints with the ACCC and the Telecommunications ombudsman.
This is NOT how Telstra should be treating customers no matter how much money they make from it.

Repeated calls to land line & mobile - claiming they are form Telstra, however mobile is not Telstra & never had been. Never left a message however today I answered homephone & a very jittery female who was being whispered to in the background wanted to talk re Telstra services - if it is true and they are Telstra, my gosh what a terrible hire! However I don't think this is the case. I called the number back from mobile after they called me & an unidentified person answered - They seemed t have no idea - very obvious scammers I say!

Really annoying - over receiving these calls, in the last two days they have called 3 times. So over it - once I get home I am going to block their number.

This number keeps calling and I rang to ask if they could kindly put on their call register not to call. They advised it could take 24 to 48 hours for that to happen and still may recieve calls in the mean time.They have rung on a daily basis and if I wanted to switch I would have rung them to swap plans. It boarders on the line of harrasment.

I have it now added to my blocked list but still I can see where they have tried to call

I use to be a telemarketer, bad news, your number is never deleted even if you ask them not to call you, it goes into a hard call pot and Every two months they give your number to the poor suckers who are hard up for a dollar to give you a call back,once your numbers in the mainstream of these annoying telemarketing companies, your number is no longer yours, sorry to all those poor people I ever rang, I was a sucker and I get these calls now from this number, pay backs a b****h.

This number keeps calling me and left a message via text once saying some dr wasn't in and could I ring back to re-schedule. And from what I've read it seems to be a scammer or something so hopefully the more they are reported the more likely some action will be taken

Telstra wanting my business. They tried hard for me to change my internet and I told them no. I was also advised that they could save me money by changing my plan up by $10, and my wife's one up by an extra $14, so that is $24 more than what I am paying now. Same call rates and SMS limit, and half the data. How's that saving me money? I'm paying more for the same item!

It's telstra and when you complain to them for Constance calls and hang ups by this number you get told its by one of their subcontractors and that you need to contact a 1800 number to opt out of the calls. It's ridiculous. When organised a home phone and have our details to telstra it wasn't so they could sell out our number (which only family have) to outside people. Very unimpressed!

Had enough of this number calling anything up to 3 times a day. Got a whistle now and hope it deafens them. Seems all phone companies cant find nor fix. I even pay for private number, what for if this happens. Phone companies need to look into this sort of thing more on phone lines and not at a customer cost. Who and what does anyone knows being done about this and how do we stop this harassment

I experienced the same situation. The calls are INCESSANT and made during business hours where I can't answer all my calls when I'm at work. When I call back, it's an automated message. It's the most frustrating number that appears on my mobile!! Telstra should rethink this approach. It may be saving them money on physical marketing or customer service reps, but it's causing grief to a lot of their customers - me included!

After calling back I got the company name - TSA Telco group calling on behalf of Telstra. They ring my phone every day and hang up when I answer (even if I answer on the first ring. I too am on the do not call register, they should not be ringing.

Repeated daily calls, even on weekends, usually between 10am and 12pm EST, no DLS. Dialled number back, went through to Telstra telemarketing or something, chose to opt out of telemarketing calls. Says it will take 30 days so can't do anything about it.
I am with Telstra, on a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305T, placing number on Reject list doesn't stop calls. .

I too have received unsolicited calls from this number which are annoying. I found this thread by searching for the same number. In the past I've been contacted by a telemarketer on behalf of Telstra (perhaps the same one), but something didn't seem quite right with my details and their offers. They were very vague when I started to question them further. I've since blocked that number and will be adding this number as well to my block list - I'd suggest anyone else who's phone supports blocking to do the same. The common thread in this is that they don't leave a voice message. If you cannot block the caller, then at least redirect them directly through to voicemail.

Called saying that they are Telstra , they have certain details about you and that they are calling to give you a better deal on your phone, asked date of birth and then say to hold until they bring your account up, if working for Telstra shouldn't it have already been up on the screen, this is when I hung up on them. This number has called before usually no one on the other end but this time they spoke.

Its TSA Telco Group, a major source of Telstra marketing. For some reason very few people including Telstra complaint know about them... I think they've been told not to know anything as the group is a major source of $ for Telstra.
